Kennel

Along with managing Creekside, Dawn also devotes her time to breeding, training and showing champion Trialfast Golden Retrievers and Chinese Shar Pei.

Creekside Kennel originally had 13 indoor/outdoor runs. Within the first three years they needed to expand, however, and did. There are currently 31 indoor/outdoor runs - and all are heated and covered. There is also a separate area for cat boarding. A training room for one-on-one, or small obedience classes for dogs is now also available, where the emphasis is on helping owners teach their pets obedience (ie., no jumping on owners, sitting while cutting nails, etc.) and other important life skills.

The boarding kennel features a fully enclosed play area that includes a kiddy swimming pool in the summer (for boarders who like to take a dip), and balls of various sizes (with plenty of staff to keep those balls moving and interesting). New agility equipment appears every season. In the summer of 2000 two swimming ponds were added to the Creekside property for Dawn's Goldens, and for other dogs who are the clients of Creekside kennel.

  • Our indoor/outdoor facility has concrete floors throughout and 6 foot high chain link fenced runs - with another fence surrounding the entire compound to ensure your pets safety and containment.

catboarding

Our feline boarding area is completely separate from our canine friends. We offer two types of cat boarding areas. Either a walled caged unit. Enclosed on three sides, yet opened in the front for our feline friends to look out through the window in the side door to the outside. Most cats prefer to be enclosed, unlike dogs.

Or, we have cat condo cages that have 1/2 inch openingson all sides, contain perches at differ ant levels for the cat(s) to sit upon. This type of unit is better suited for the extravert. We set these units up in our office/training room where there is much more activity.

Boarding charges include cat food, dry and/or wet, twice daily changes to cat litter and lots of hugging and conversation.

All male cats must be neutered. All cats must be negative for feline leukemia.

1 Cat $12.00 day
2 Cats $20.00 day / same Deluxe Catominium
3 Cats $24.00 / day sharing 2 Deluxe Catominiums

We have a very stringent NO FLEA policy. Every pet coming into our facility is gone over with a flea comb, and a visual inspection for fleas. If one flea is found, before said pet can go into our boarding area they are defleaed. The cost of a flea bath is $20.00. We'll board all pets, just not pet fleas!

We also offer pick-up and delivery. Charges are .60/mile starting from the kennel to your home and then back to our facility again.

Beginning Obedience Classes are held several times a year. Please call for starting dates and charges. We also offer private, one on one training, both at our facility or your home.

Client Testimonials

boogabean
sebastian asks for some attention please!
Nine years ago when i realized that i had to leave Sebastian, my German Shorthair, in the care of another while i went to the west coast for a few days (i had just moved to NY) i was a wreck. Anyone who knows this breed knows that not only are they high maintenance exercise-wise, but they are extremely attached to their humans, thus garnering the nickname "velcro-companion dog". I called 6 different kennels and visited them all. Creekside was the needle in the haystack.

Sebastian has such a good time when he is at Creekside that i never even give it a second thought anymore. He sees it as "playtime" and when we get there he goes right over to the door to the kennel - doesn't even look back. Dawn treats him like one of her own and we actually refer to creekside as "camp". I get to bring all his bedding and whatever toys we want, and the playtime 2x a day is a lifesaver for him.

Creekside is Sebastian's home away from home!"

Fast Eddie
Creekside Kennel is a wonderful place to bring my dogs. My Black Lab Shaw loves it here. When I tell him he's 'going to camp' he gets very excited and is more excited when he gets to the driveway. Dawn and the Staff spoil both my dogs. Eddie, the Brussels Griffon, did great his first stay at Creekside Kennel.

We have been bringing Max, our Golden Retriever/Huskie mix, to Creekside Kennel for the past twelve years. Dawn and her staff have always been attentive to Max. He is always excited and happy in the car when he realizes where he is going and always returns in good spirits. Last year we adopted Julia, a female adult Beagle mix from a rescue group. Julia was a handful at first, but with the proper obedience training that she (and we) received from Dawn, she has been able to adapt well to our family. We feel confident that both dogs are in good hands at Creekside while we are away.
